Everything here is reference information drawn from the research literature, not medical advice, and Lamduan is neither a doctor nor a pharmacist. Supplements are not medicines and do not replace anything a doctor has prescribed. If you take regular medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have liver or kidney disease, or have surgery coming up, speak to a pharmacist or doctor before starting anything on this page.

Nothing to do with fat loss.

📏Dose and ceiling
Commonly used: 700-3,000 mcg per day
3,000 mcg RAE/day — IOM and EFSA (reaffirmed 2024). Counts preformed retinol only, not beta-carotene.
When to take it
Take with a meal containing fat, or it will not absorb.
Caution
One of the most dangerous to overdo. Chronic excess causes dry skin, joint pain, abnormal liver tests and raised intracranial pressure — and it is teratogenic. Anyone pregnant or who may become pregnant must not exceed 3,000 mcg. Cod liver oil is the source people forget to count.
